I don't know about you but I suspect we all have our off days. A bad review, a rough spot in your work-in-progress, a royalty check for 63 cents (yes, really). Then you have one of those moments when it all seems like an awful lot of effort for very little reward. Of course, next week there will be that great review, flash of inspiration and check for $700. But what do you do to tide you over until then?

I once got a royalty check for 12 cents. That was teh suxx0rs. Booze usually helps me, if that's what you're into. And porn movies. And watching an episode of Spaced or Flight of the Conchords. Because two minutes in heaven is better than one minute in heaven...

I pout and work on outlines. Something about being aggrivated sparks creativity for me.

Is a check for twelve center better than receiving nothing from a publisher after six months?

Alcohol, people. Are you trying to lead me astray. Next you will be recommending sexy man and fast cars... or is that the other way around?
