Bulletin: Ellora's Cave Website--veinglory

What is with the simultaneous existence of this Ellora's cave website, and this one? I hope the later is just a glitch or test because it doesn't look like an improvement on the tried and true. It does roll all their imprints in together. Maybe some of them, like Lotus Circle, confused the customer base as much as they confused me?

There are 2 sites because they are having a huge sale and so many people are on it, the website wasn't working at all. So they split them up for the time being.

From what I understand, the second site was built, and has been 'tested' via the print books being sold from that site while they were in the process of building it up (so essentially running side by side as you could purchase eBooks at Jasmine Jade as well. (this has been the case for a good 4-5 months at least that I know of)

The idea, I think was to get everything running, then do a url swap. Only things didn't go quite right somewhere. So they've reverted back to the old while they figure out what went wrong. I've been given to believe it's been traffic flow/demand causing problems.

I found it interesting though, when websites are getting more minimal graphic and layout wise that they choose to go with a very graphic heavy website.

I have to agree with your previous post Ravenous Romance's site is very pretty and fairly well thought out. I found it to look very professional, at least. I've not a bought a book to find out about the rest :)

The jasminejade one won't even load for me (two attempts, 30 seconds and still a blank white page) so I'm thinking perhaps they have major problems...?

Apart for the fact that I have the same problem to upload the page, I dread when they will switch on the new site since I believe to have seen that there isn't the LGBT section which collect all the LGBT title as in the previous site...

Sure there is, Elisa, it's just called Spectrum now. The new genre titles are confusing a lot of people but if you hover over the list of icons in the sidebar, it gives a hovertext description of them.

I hope that's something they fix, since people clearly are having trouble finding those descriptions.
