"The growing market for digital romance novels has attracted several newcomers, including tiny independent publishers like Ellora’s Cave, Samhain Publishing and Ravenous Romance."

Newcomers??? Um, did they not know Ellora's Cave was on the forefront of digital publishing???? Wow, if that isn't insulting!

Hmm, I'm not sure I would describe EC as 'tiny', either. 'Tiny' to me is a one-person band with about six titles to their name...

I'd certainly not put EC and Samhain in the same company as Ravenous.

Well, the NYT interviewed Ravenous, and not EC or Samhain. I think that is relevant and speaks to the decades of real publishing experience that the Ravenous people have.

Ravenous apparently sold foreign print rights in 7 different countries (as well as in US) yesterday following the NYT article.

or maybe I misread that Twitter post; it could also mean they sold books to customers in 7 countries following the NYT article. Either way, impressive.

I think it means NY has no clue what digital publishing is doing outside NY.
