AT&T/Nook, a Christmas Grinch?

Has anyone else noticed that 3G Nooks, which used to come complete with free wireless internet access (via AT&T hotspot), now don't?
Some time around Christmas that function quietly stopped working.

My nook is connecting fine to 3G just two seconds ago. I checked and I had the wifi disabled.
