Market: Forbidden Lust

I investigate any new market with an open mind but my suspicions began to form when I saw all the cheesy photography on the front page, my interest waned when I saw they take pretty mauch all romance and erotica genres and was extinguished when I saw that the pay a flat rat that amounts to $50 per 10,000 words.

But that's just me.

Website here. Owner Kayci Morgan.

p.s. If "Forbidden Lust was founded on the ideals that love and sex are a beautiful and wonderful part of the human experience and should celebrated, not censored" why the name?  Shouldn't it be "Celebrated Lust"?

And why are "Bi" and "Trans" grouped together when every other category has its own slot? Are we meant to think that bi and trans are related somehow? Does the publisher think they're the same thing...? That's kind of disturbing. :/

No, I don't think Bi and Trans are the same thing. I've just seen them combined on other sites and find it easier to categorize gender swap stories when those two genres are the same category.

Kayci -- do you have any idea whatsoever just how insulting and demeaning and belittling that attitude is, toward both bisexual and transgendered people? Any clue whatsoever? You're basically saying, "I'm going to stack these two identities -- one a gender identity and one a sexual identity -- and only these two identities out of the many I have here, I'm going to toss them both into the same category as though they're so close it doesn't make any difference, because it's mildly more convenient for me when dinking with my web page." Tossing them both in the same box insults many thousands of people, including some percentage of people you probably hope will be your customers.

And I get that other publishers (and some vendors) are just as ignorant and insulting. Not copying them will give you an advantage over them -- something you'd probably appreciate as a new start-up business.

First I'd like to point out, for all you know I could be part of one or both of those groups.

However, since I'm not trying to make a political statement one way or the other with my romance and erotica categories. I'll split the categories.

Emily you claim to be an author or publisher, well first learn how to spell " I saw that the pay a flat rat that amounts to" those are your words above. I am an author and from all your typo errors i have seen and that you also claim you take bribes in your about me here on your blog i would never consider you or recommend you. Your a low class author. Priceless....snort!

Anon -- seriously? You're gloating over the typos on her blog? That's honestly the best you can do? [huge fucking eyeroll] I grade your snark at a D-, and that's generous. Run along now and let the grown-ups talk.

Angie

PS -- I'll point out that the punctuation in your first sentence sucks rocks. Muphry's Law strikes. [smirk]

I will leave the typos because, yes, I make typos sometimes. If people want to not read this blog for that reason, that is entirely up to them.

Angie in response to your post which is very uneducated and your choice of words are very poor, my advice to you is to purchase some kind of mouth wash. If someone were to read all of these comments you by far pop out as being a filthy, dirty, trash talking, and uncontrollable individual. When under pressure as an adult you should learn to carry yourself with professionalism and use proper wording. I will not come back to this blog and continue to bring people here to read this nonsense which was originally created by another individual who already had and added more hatred to her reputation. A little advice to both of you, learn to carry yourselves with more respect and dignity. Judging from what i have read here, my judgement is that you both do not respect yourselves and seem to be very lonely individuals. Peace and LOVE! ;)
