WTF Cedar Fort

For many years all I knew about Cedar Fort Publishing is that they are LDS (Mormon) owned and they make really good cook books. I mean, cook books that cook-book-hating people like me find useful.  I literally own all of three cook books, the one I learned to use as a kid and two from Cedar Fort.

But lately they have been acting, well, fucking weird.

First we had the 'drop an author just before publishing because he won't obfuscate his gayness'.  Something that might have alerted the PR brigade that the need to keep a closer eye on things.

Now they have been soliciting submissions for Nano writers, and however they are doing it, they are doing it wrong.  How can I say that? Because they are freaking people out. Even of they are just thinking outside the box and looking for fresh talent, this is apparently not the way to do it.

It seems to me that they are two steps into 'how to completely destroy your good reputation in three easy steps'.
