Technical question for you Blogger bloggers

What is the best way to set comments?  "Popup" seems a bad idea as popup blockers will get in the way.  When I choose "embedded" I like the reply function that lets you respond to specific comments--but the bloody thing will not actually post any comment no matter what I do.  So now I have opted for "whole page", and am hoping for the best.  Any advice appreciated.

I have the same problem with other blogs, but it's only while using Chrome. When I switch to Internet Explorer or Firefox I don't have any problems with commenting.

Hope that helps! Sometimes, I just wait it out until these browser developers get their crap together and learn to play nice together, but since Google owns Chrome and Blogger, you'd think they could handle this a little better...

I was using Firefox, but will try returning to embedded nd using Explore. What a pain.

Sorry for posting anonymously, but I can never get Blogger to accept my comments otherwise.

After weeks of fighting Blogger's awful comment system on my own blog, I finally switched it out for Disqus. While Disqus isn't perfect either, mainly because they have slowdowns at times, it's miles better than what Blogger itself provides. It'll import all your existing comments after an hour or two, so you don't have to give up anything to make the switch.

You can find instructions on the Disqus site, but I found looking up a short video on Youtube made the process clearer to me.

I successfully used a third party comment system here for years, but when it went bust all of those comments were permanently lost. So while I struggle with the Blogger system and am shy of moving off it again.
