You Are Here--veinglory

I haven't really leaped into the whole race and romance thing that is going around the blogs. But for the record, I am totally in the market for more diversity and more authenticity in romance. It is hard to find a real range of romance stories even if you are (and I am) looking for them. I am pleased that M/M is making in roads but conflicted that it looks more like sub-genres move inside the fence, and not so much like the area within the 'pale' is expanding. Moving, yes. Expanding? I don't know. We are gaining erotic romance, but are we losing those detailed inches-thick historicals that used to be common? Are are gaining M/M but losing medical and regency romance? Gaining paranormal but losing gothic? I know romance changes, but does it actually grow?
